| Does your livestock operation have a destination or just a direction? In life we all should consider “charting our course” or have a plan of where we are going. If you don’t know where you are going, how are you going to know when you get there? If the direction of your program is to increase carcass quality, then how will you accomplish this while maintaining or increasing your profitability? With a destination in mind you’d think about carcass quality with also efficiency or profitability of your livestock business. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

At Kappes’ we concentrate on the “HOLISTIC APPROACH”. As defined by
Webster “relating to complete systems”. Our breeding program is exactly
that “a complete simple system that can be followed successfully by
commercial beef producers.” We don’t chase the fads but focus on the
economic important traits that result in the optimum production of RED
MEAT. Our holistic breeding goals have focused on calving ease, maternal ability, carcass traits, solid colored cattle, structural soundness, fertility, performance and moderate framed cattle that can efficiently process forages into beef. Now is the time to consider reinvesting the profit of your 2003 calf crop to move your herd towards a destination: Superior Holistic Genetics - A destination of profitability. |

Our customers have requested that we expand our genetic offering. This
year we will again offer Simmental, Sim-Angus and Angus genetics to
enhance your opportunity to utilize a crossbreeding program. Our offering
this year includes more numbers than ever before. We are pleased to
announce the addition of Janssen Farms as a seedstock partner. They have
consistently won the hearts of Simmental seedstock operations and have
successfully promoted elite Simmental cow families that are recognized
across North America as some of the top Simmental cow families. This year
they have joined us as a supplier of seedstock and commercial bulls. The
majority of these bulls were raised as embryo transplant calves in western
North Dakota and have been performance tested with our bull calves. Buy
these bulls with confidence as they represent elite cow families. They
sell with the same guarantee that you’ve come to appreciate from us. They
are identified with the prefix “JF”. Flittie Ranch also has elite bred and
open heifers consigned that are bred with much the same breeding goals as
ours. As an added feature this year we’ve implemented a new program to help you identify cow families. All bred and open heifers have been named with their cow family name. Performance data such as scrotal circumference and ultrasound carcass data will be available the end of January. Plan to attend February 21, 2004 and move your livestock enterprise towards a destination with “Holistic Genetics” available only from Kappes’. Call today to visit about beef production.

Corey, Travis and Roland
Schnabel Emery & Freeman, South Dakota The longest customer of Kappes Simmental genetics! They have been buying Kappes’ genetics for over 20 years. Roland Schnabel stated, “With Kappes genetics we consistently top the market when we sell our calves in March. Our calves typically weigh approximately 1000 at eleven months of age. We accomplish this while having to touch very few calves at birth. The bulls we’ve bought from Kappes’ have had excellent dispositions. Maternally, Kappes sired females are moderate framed and easy keeping.” |
| Redalen Cattle Company Fountain, Minnesota Letter to Kappes Simmental on July 16, 2003
Just wanted to let you know we
are very pleased with our Preferred Beef bred heifer (Lot 94) we purchased
from you at your sale this spring. She has a powerful, extremely stout
bull calf at her side and she is very easy fleshing and very maternal. We
have flushed her twice since she calved, got seventeen embryos the first
time and twelve embryos the second time. Then we bred her just two days
ago. She has done everything we have asked of her! Thanks for all
your hard work in the Simmental business. |
