Preferred Beef delivers differentiated value as his calves are born unassisted and then develop into thick topped, heavy muscled bulls. His son, Kappes Collateral L77, sold as our second high selling bull in our 2002 sale to Hudson Pines Farms , NY for $11,750. In our 2002 sale, five of his sons sold to seedstock producers for a $6,150 average. Overall, sixteen sons averaged $3,213. The high selling percentage and second high selling heifer calf in the Janssen Farms 2002 Cow Family Treasures Sale was sired by Preferred Beef. JF Blackbird  Lady 226M sold for $7,300 to Tucker Cattle Co. of CO. Preferred Beef is truly unique, calving ease plus muscle. There is no other way to describe him than SIMPLY AWESOME. Preferred Edge sets the standard at our ranch for BIG TIME SPREAD BULL. His birth to yearling spread is superior. His EPDs rank him at the top 1% of the breed for CE and BW, top 15% for WW and YW, top 10% for MCE and top 35% for MWW. His libido is second to none. In 2001 he was exposed to 33 cows for 21 days and everyone was bred. In 2002 he attained a 100% conception rate while nursing an injury to his leg for the majority of the breeding season. In our 2002 sale, 18 sons averaged $3,506 and 3 bred heifers averaged $3,100. His highest performing son of our 2002 sale sold for $6,000 to Brant Farms, MN. Homozygous black and homozygous polled.

Direct Force sold in our 2001 sale as our high  selling bull for $5,900 to Pineview Farms & Bell Farms, NC. Gordon and Frank thoroughly search black Simmental bull pens each year to select a superior, heavy muscled, deep bodied herd bull prospect. We have had the opportunity to sell them a herd bull prospect each of the last two years. Direct Force’s progeny are made just like him: deep bodied, thick topped and heavy muscled. Direct Force posed an impressive WW ratio of 118 and a YW ratio of 111. His EPDs rank him in the top 15% of the breed for MWW, top 30% for WW, top 35% for YW and top 20% for MM. Last year I stated that we were patiently waiting to see the first Integrity calves and now we are patiently waiting to see how our customers will receive them. His calves are soft topped with lots of rib and plenty of muscle. Integrity’s calves are very similar in type to Lucky Dice’s calves. His EPDs rank him in the top 2% of the breed for BW and MCE, top 25% for MWW, top 30% for YW. Integrity is homozygous black and homozygous polled.

Duramax sold our feature herd sire prospect and the high selling bull in our 2002 sale  to ABS and Black Ridge Simmentals, VA. His phenotype unequalled. He is smooth in his gait and walks out on a wide base. His carcass EPDs are very impressive as his pedigree includes two very prominent carcass sires, GW Lucky Strike and Nichols Legacy.
